
MANILA, Philippines — A Hong Kong-bound flight was temporarily held up at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) on Thursday morning due to a “security concern.”
Philippine Airlines (PAL) confirmed the incident in a statement, but did not specify the security concern.

“[PAL] confirms that Flight PR300 to Hong Kong was temporarily held this morning following a security concern,” the airline said.

It then added security protocols were immediately established during the incident in coordination with relevant authorities.
“The aircraft was thoroughly inspected and subsequently cleared for departure,” PAL said.
Meanwhile, PAL said it is now assisting passengers and preparing the flight for departure.
INQUIRER has already asked the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group for more details about the incident but has yet to receive a response as of posting time. /gsg
