MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — The cash assistance for senior citizens in Mandaue City has been increased, and the higher payout has already been set for this November.
The Mandaue City Council has approved on final reading the ordinance raising the annual financial assistance from P10,000 to P11,000 this year, with a further increase to P12,000 starting next year.

The city has around 30,000 registered senior citizens who are expected to benefit from the adjustment.
City Councilor Carlo Fortuna said the adjustment is intended to help senior citizens better manage expenses, especially those relying on the cash assistance for essential needs.
Under the approved ordinance, senior citizens will receive a total of P11,000 this year.
The first tranche of P5,000 was released in April, while the remaining P6,000 has been moved to November instead of December to allow earlier release of assistance.

Fortuna said the ordinance also adjusts the release schedule of benefits starting next year, with payouts set every June and November to ensure a more regular distribution.///
