Four injured in serious crash near Kaitoke

Four people have been transported to Whanganui hospital following a serious crash on State Highway 3 near Kaitoke - south east of Whanganui.

Emergency services were called to the two vehicle crash which happened near the intersection of Kaitoke and Holmwood Roads shortly before 6.15pm.

A St John's Ambulance spokesperson said two people were in a serious condition while two others had moderate and minor injuries.

Stop and go traffic management was in place and motorists were advised to expect delays in the area.
