A man proudly representing Malta had an interviewer scratching their head after being stopped for a street interview where they had to guess where he was from.
Rather than revealing the answer, Archie was asked to describe his country through a series of clues.
He kicked things off by saying it was “a small European island”, leading to guesses like Cyprus, the Canary Islands and Mallorca, all of which missed the mark.
When asked to name a famous food from his country, Archie replied: “Pastizzi… it’s like a ricotta pastry.”
He then described Malta as being “unfortunately… now known as being a party destination island”, adding that while hardly anyone knew where he was from a decade ago, “now everyone does.”
The interviewer kept digging, asking about Malta’s flag, its size and even whether Archie looked like he was from his country.
The biggest clue came when Archie described the Maltese language as “a mixture of Latin, Arabic and Italian.”
“What? And it’s in Europe?” the interviewer asked in disbelief.
Moments later, the penny finally dropped.
“Malta.”
“Correct. How did you know that?” Archie replied.
“The Maltese people,” the interviewer answered.
Archie wrapped up the wholesome exchange with a line every local can get behind:
“I’m from Malta, bro. Malta till I die.”
Could you guess he was Maltese?
