
LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A farmer was arrested after police seized three illegal firearms and suspected shabu (crystal meth) during the implementation of a search warrant in Guinayangan, Quezon, on Wednesday, July 1.
The Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO), in a belated report released Thursday, said operatives served the search warrant at around 6:19 a.m. at the residence of the suspect, identified only by the alias “Nestor,” in Barangay Ligpit Bantayan.
Recovered during the operation were a caliber .38 revolver, a caliber .22 revolver, an improvised caliber .22 rifle, several bullets, and 19 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated value of P10,200.

The search warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in the neighboring municipality of Calauag.
Police did not disclose additional personal details of the suspect.
“The operation demonstrates the police force’s intensified campaign against illegal firearms and illegal drugs in Quezon province to maintain peace and ensure the safety of the community,” said Col. Romulo Albacea, director of the QPPO.
The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and the law on illegal possession of firearms. INQ /mr
