CEBU CITY, Philippines — Rising Filipino featherweight Sam Japet “Principe Red” Enano is set for another tough test in Australia when he takes on reigning IBF Pan Pacific featherweight champion Tyler Blizzard on July 10 in Queensland.
Enano earned his second trip Down Under after capturing the International Boxing Organization (IBO) Oceania featherweight title with a unanimous decision victory over hometown favorite Tyrell Adams in New South Wales last April.
The 24-year-old Filipino will now face a more experienced opponent in Blizzard in an eight-round non-title bout, according to an announcement from Sanman Boxing, Enano’s promoter.

Blizzard brings a 10-1 record with four knockouts into the fight and currently holds the IBF Pan Pacific featherweight crown. The 28-year-old Australian is looking to rebound after suffering the lone defeat of his career against Sam Goodman in a 10-round contest last December.
Sam Enano, meanwhile, enters the bout with an 8-2 record, including three wins by knockout. Before upsetting Adams to win the IBO Oceania title, he dropped a majority decision to Japan’s Misaki Hirano in December last year.
The July 10 event, promoted by Goldstar and Tasman Fighters, features seven bouts. Another Filipino boxer, Presco Carcosia, is also on the card and will face Australia’s Fred Zziwa in the lightweight division.
