Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko agreed on several cultural cooperation initiatives at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta to deepen socio-cultural relations between the two countries.
"In the socio-cultural and human resource development sectors, we encourage closer cooperation through cultural exchanges and strengthening partnerships between educational institutions and vocational training centers," Prabowo said in a joint statement at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday.
Expanding socio-cultural ties was one of the key topics discussed by the two leaders, alongside cooperation in politics, the economy, trade, agriculture, industry, and defense.
Prabowo said Indonesia and Belarus are committed to deepening bilateral relations through more focused and practical cooperation across various sectors.
Furthermore, the two countries launched the Roadmap for Strengthening Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation 2026-2030, which will serve as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years.
According to Prabowo, the roadmap reflects both countries' shared commitment to building mutually beneficial partnerships across a wide range of sectors.
In addition to cultural cooperation, the Indonesian and Belarusian delegations signed several cooperation documents covering healthcare, culture, national accreditation, financial transaction reporting, industry, science and technology, and financial services.
Prabowo expressed hope that the agreements would be implemented promptly to deliver tangible benefits to the people of both Indonesia and Belarus.
Furthermore, he appreciated President Lukashenko's visit to Indonesia, noting that it was the Belarusian president's second visit to the country.
Prabowo recalled the warm welcome he received during his visit to Minsk last year, saying the relationship between Indonesia and Belarus continues to grow on the basis of mutual respect and shared benefit. He added that he would pay a reciprocal state visit to Belarus following the launch of the Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation Roadmap 2026–2030.
"Of course, I will also reciprocate this visit," Prabowo said.
