Manokwari, Southwest Papua (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Treasury (DJPb) of the Indonesian Finance Ministry has disbursed Rp2.29 trillion (US$127.38 million) in regional transfer funds (TKD) to seven local governments in Southwest Papua Province as of May 31, 2026.
Head of the Directorate General’s Southwest Papua Regional Office, Moch Abdul Kobir, stated here on Thursday that the disbursement accounts for 36.76 percent of the Rp6.22 trillion (US$345.98 million, exchange rate US$1= Rp17,978 on July 2) TKD budget allocated for the province this year.
“The realization of these regional transfer funds will continue to rise as each local government in Southwest Papua fulfills the required administrative documents for disbursement,” Moch Abdul Kobir said.
He noted that the General Allocation Fund (DAU) took up most of the transfer, reaching Rp1.47 trillion out of its Rp3.14 trillion ceiling, followed by the Special Autonomy (Otsus) Fund, which saw Rp351.97 billion disbursed from a Rp1.56 trillion ceiling.
Other distributed funds included the non-physical Special Allocation Fund (DAK) at Rp287.01 billion, the Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) at Rp122.03 billion, the Village Fund at Rp47.10 billion, and the physical DAK at Rp2.90 billion.
“The DAU recorded the highest realization at 46.87 percent, while the physical DAK was the lowest at 4.14 percent. Regarding the physical DAK, we are continuously coordinating with local administrations to expedite the fulfillment of their disbursement requirements,” Kobir remarked.
Meanwhile, looking at the disbursement by region, Sorong District recorded the highest realization at Rp392.51 billion, followed closely by Raja Ampat District at Rp375.09 billion.
The remaining funds were distributed to Sorong City (Rp343.22 billion), the Southwest Papua Provincial Government (Rp331.79 billion), Maybrat District (Rp299.12 billion), Tambrauw District (Rp275.77 billion), and South Sorong District (Rp268.17 billion).
Kobir said that regional transfer funds are a crucial state budget instrument designed to strengthen local governments' fiscal capacity. These funds are vital for financing public services, infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and other regional programs.
Expediting the disbursement of these funds according to the targeted timelines will positively impact regional development programs and ultimately improve public welfare, he added.
"However, we are not solely focused on accelerating the disbursement. We also ensure the quality of the process by verifying that all required documents are properly fulfilled," he concluded.
