
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto and Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko launched the Roadmap for Strengthening Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation 2026–2030 as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years.
In a joint statement at the Merdeka Palace on Thursday, Prabowo said the roadmap reflects the commitment of Indonesia and Belarus to building more focused, concrete, and mutually beneficial cooperation in various strategic areas.
"Today, the two countries have launched the Roadmap for Strengthening Indonesia-Belarus Cooperation 2026–2030, which will serve as a framework for developing bilateral relations over the next five years," the president remarked.
The roadmap will guide efforts to enhance cooperation across various sectors, including the economy, agriculture, food security, culture, and science and technology.
In the food security sector, President Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia and Belarus are committed to boost cooperation by leveraging complementary potential.
This cooperation includes the development of modern agriculture, the provision of fertilizers, agricultural tools and technology, and heavy equipment.
In the economic sector, the two countries agreed to expand their partnership to support each country's national development agendas.
Going forward, cooperation will focus on industrial development, agricultural modernization, supply chain strengthening, and technology development.
President Prabowo also expressed appreciation to Belarus for completing the ratification of Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA).
He conveyed that Indonesia is also processing the ratification completion as part of efforts to strengthen trade relations with the Eurasian region.
Furthermore, the head of state acknowledges significant opportunities to increase investment and establish joint ventures between businesses in both countries, particularly in the manufacturing, automotive, heavy vehicle, and agro-industry sectors.
In the socio-cultural and human resource development sectors, President Prabowo encouraged strengthened cooperation through cultural exchanges, partnerships between educational institutions, and the development of vocational education and training to improve the quality of human resources in both countries.
