An evening of dance will take centre stage in Lagoa next week as award-winning performers join forces with the Carvoeiro Cat Charity Association (CCCA) to raise funds for cats in need across the Algarve.
Dancers for Cats will be held on Tuesday, July 7, at 8pm at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium in Lagoa. The performance will feature dancers from CAB Lagoa, with organisers hoping to fill the venue’s 300 seats for what they say will be the first in a series of fundraising events for the charity.
Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to make a donation to support CCCA’s work rescuing, feeding, sterilising and rehoming abandoned and vulnerable cats throughout the region.
Organisers describe the performance as an “enchanting and magical” evening designed to bring together supporters, families and the wider community while raising awareness of the charity’s work.
The event will showcase award-winning dancers in a theatrical performance, with a cash bar available throughout the evening.
CCCA is calling on supporters to reserve their seats in advance and spread the word to help ensure a full house.
“We are incredibly excited to bring this enchanting and magical fundraising event to you and your family and friends,” the charity said in a message to volunteers.
“This is the first of many new and amazing events we want to plan and celebrate for the charity with all of you.”
The organisation hopes the evening will not only raise essential funds but also strengthen community support for animal welfare initiatives in the Algarve.
Those wishing to attend can reserve free tickets by scanning the QR code on the event poster. Donations can also be made when booking or on the night.
CCCA relies on donations and volunteers to continue its work caring for stray and abandoned cats, funding veterinary treatment, sterilisation programmes and rehoming efforts across the region.
Organisers are encouraging supporters to invite friends and family to help make the inaugural Dancers for Cats event a success and lay the foundations for future fundraising performances.
