ALDI Portugal is continuing its expansion in the Algarve with the opening of a new supermarket in Quarteira this Friday (July 3), creating 28 new jobs and bringing its total number of stores in the Faro district to 23.
Located on Avenida da Fonte Santa, the new outlet is ALDI’s fourth store in the municipality of Loulé and forms part of the retailer’s nationwide growth strategy.
“The Algarve is a strategic region for ALDI Portugal, not only because it marked our entry into Portugal, but also because of the close relationship we have built with the local community,” said João Braz Teixeira, Managing Director of Expansion and Real Estate at ALDI Portugal.
“Beyond offering a convenient and affordable shopping experience, this new store in Quarteira has been designed to meet the different needs of our customers.”
The supermarket features around 1,000 square metres of sales area and 115 parking spaces, including four for people with reduced mobility, bicycle parking, four electric vehicle charging points, a dog parking area and eight spaces for motorhomes.
Customers will also have access to a 24-hour self-service laundry and Locky parcel lockers.
As part of ALDI’s sustainability strategy, the store has been equipped with solar panels and a rainwater harvesting system for irrigation.
The retailer also confirmed that surplus food from the store will be donated to the Algarve Food Bank, helping reduce food waste while supporting local families.
To mark the opening, shoppers making purchases on Friday will receive a €5 voucher to use on a future purchase of €20 or more. Additional promotional offers on summer essentials will also be available during the weeks following the launch.
