Why Mob Wives' Most Explosive Rooftop Fight Almost Never Aired
Renee Graziano made an offer that Drita D'Avanzo could refuse.
The Mob Wives alum revealed that although she tried to make amends with her former costar following a stay in a rehab facility, Drita was uninterested.
“I don't speak to her. She don't to speak to me is more like it,” Renee exclusively shared with E! News during a joint interview with her younger sister and Mob Wives creator Jennifer Graziano. “It's OK.”
“When I first came home from treatment three years ago, you're supposed to make amends,” the 56-year-old explained. “So I know there was a lot of things that I didn't even do wrong, but I still said I was sorry for them. She blocked me. That's OK. She don't like me, it's fine.”
Still, she knows that fans certainly get a kick out of the two of them together, adding, “We're hysterical, like in a scene. But it's also very hard when you have two huge personalities. No, I was born this way and Drita was born that way, but there's no competition. At the end of the day I'm Jennifer's sister.”
And it was that sisterly bond that caused a bit of tension, as many assumed Renee got special treatment—an assertion she vehemently denied.
“I didn't get treated any different, but I'm still your sister,” she said. “But that in itself annoyed the s--t out of everyone.”

As for Jennifer, she certainly had an interesting experience behind the scenes of Mob Wives, especially when it came to making big decisions for the reality series. Case in point: airing the infamous rooftop fight between Drita and Karen Gravano.
“I was like, ‘Yeah, we're not going to show that. We're just going to fade to black and just do the audio,’” she recalled. “Because I didn't want them to look nuts and put them in a bad light. They were my friends.”
However, the 54-year-old quickly learned that the choice was not hers to make, saying the network not only insisted that the fight air, but also wanted it to appear “louder and bigger than what it really was.”
The incident ultimately loomed large for Jennifer and also for Renee, as she was quite literally caught in the crossfire of the argument with Drita and Karen fighting on top of her as she rolled around with her legs spread wide open.

“Oh my god, Spanx owes me,” Renee exclaimed, adding that she “wasn't going to wear anything that night.”
“I sat there like this,” she continued, spreading her legs, “with Drita and Karen underneath me and my legs open going, ‘Drita! Drita!’ I kid you not. Thank you, Spanx. Thank you Spanx, forever.”
Jennifer laughed, “Otherwise we would have had a big blur.”
And the sisters—whose dad was late Bonanno crime family member Anthony A. Graziano—will be sharing stories like this and more alongside costar Marissa Jade this summer for the Mob Wives: The Sit Down Tour, an eight-city live event series with City Winery.
Now, Jennifer is looking forward to connecting with audiences after years behind the scenes.
“I don't know if I'm gonna love it or hate it,” she admitted, “but I'll let you know.”
