Police have charged a man after a serious assault on a North Shore bus last month.
Waitematā police said the unprovoked attack took place at about 6pm on Sunday 21 June but the offender was not located at the time.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams said the intermittent nine minute assault was captured on CCTV footage.
"The victim was extremely shaken by the incident and required medical treatment for their injuries," he said in a statement.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on Thursday and he has been charged with injuring with intent to injure and impedes another person's breathing.
He is expected to appear in North Shore District Court on Friday.
