Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government will strengthen the digitalization of learning in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions in 2026, following the successful expansion of the program to 288,865 education units across Indonesia.
Head of the Government Communications Agency (Bakom) Muhammad Qodari stated that the reinforcement will focus on increasing electricity and internet infrastructure support to ensure the benefits of digital learning are evenly distributed.
"This program has reached hundreds of thousands of educational units throughout Indonesia," Qodari said during a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (July 2).
According to data from the Primary and Secondary Education Ministry, a total of 288,865 educational units received digital interactive boards alongside supporting devices, including laptops and external hard disks.
In addition, the government provided internet access to 8,265 educational units, electricity support to 2,389 units, as well as digital learning training to 33,156 teachers and education personnel.
Within the 3T regions specifically, the program has reached 13,838 schools of various educational levels.
The government distributed electricity support to 49 schools, internet services to 4,316 schools, and 30,285 laptops and hard disks to support the remote learning process.
Qodari noted that the government will continue providing digital interactive boards, optimizing school assistance, and developing specialized digital learning content to maximize the utility of the distributed devices.
However, he acknowledged that the government still faces significant bottlenecks in the field, including limited electricity supply, unstable internet connectivity, challenging geographical access, and human resource readiness in 3T areas.
"Therefore, the direction of digitalization of learning will not only focus on adding devices, but also strengthening electricity and internet infrastructure," Qodari concluded.
