
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A man listed as the Top 2 Regional Most Wanted Person in Northern Mindanao was arrested in Pinamungajan, Cebu, on Wednesday night, July 1, over seven counts of statutory rape filed against him in Bukidnon.
The suspect, identified by police as alias “Glendel,” was arrested at around 7 p.m. in Sitio Targetan, Barangay Pandacan, by personnel of Pinamungajan Municipal Police Station serving warrants of arrest.

Police said the suspect was also listed as the Top 1 Provincial Most Wanted Person in Bukidnon and the Top 1 Most Wanted Person in Valencia City before his arrest.
Warrant served
Authorities said the warrants of arrest were issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 46 in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, for seven counts of statutory rape under Article 266-A (1)(d) in relation to Article 266-B (5) of the Revised Penal Code. All seven cases carry no recommended bail.
Upon his arrest, the suspect was informed of the nature and cause of his arrest and apprised of his constitutional rights in a language he understood.
Police said the suspect, a native of Bukidnon, had been temporarily residing in Pinamungajan before he was tracked down through intelligence gathering and coordination between police units.

As of Friday, July 3, he remains detained at Pinamungajan Municipal Police Station pending his turnover to the issuing court.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Provincial Intelligence Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, the Provincial Intelligence Team-South of the Regional Intelligence Division 7, the Regional Forensic Unit 7, the Cebu Provincial Forensic Unit, the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of the Cebu Police Provincial Office, and intelligence operatives from the Valencia City Police Station in Bukidnon.
