
BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan — A 25-year-old municipal councilor of this central Pangasinan town died in a lone-vehicle crash late Thursday night in San Carlos City, police said.
An initial police report identified the victim as Councilor Jan Nazer David Junio, who was reportedly driving at high speed along the provincial road in Barangay Turac at around 11 p.m. when his vehicle slammed into a concrete bridge barrier.

Junio sustained fatal injuries to various parts of his body. He was rushed by rescuers from the San Carlos City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to the Region 1 Medical Center in Dagupan City but was later declared dead.

Police said the vehicle was extensively damaged. It was turned over to barangay officials of Barangay Turac for safekeeping pending further investigation and proper disposition.
In a social media post, Bayambang Mayor Nina Jose-Quiambao said she was “deeply saddened” by the sudden passing of Junio, whom she fondly called “Kulas.”
“Kulas was a true friend with a genuine heart for our people. His energy, dedication, and faithful public service have left a profound and lasting mark on the hearts of the entire Bayambang community,” the mayor said./coa
