MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said it was ready to implement lawful orders from any court as the arrest of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta looms following the filing of the plunder case against him.
“We follow systems and protocols in our operations,” PNP public information chief Col. Allen Rae Co said in a press briefing in Camp Crame on Friday.
“The PNP stands ready to execute any lawful order from the court,” he added.

The Office of the Ombudsman filed the plunder case against Marcoleta, former Anakalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor and donors Aristotle Viray and Joseph Espiritu before the Sandiganbayan on Friday morning.
The case stemmed from a P75-million donation the latter three made to Marcoleta when he was still a congressman before his senatorial bid in 2025.
“We will be coordinating if ever this will be done inside the Senate with the Senate leadership,” Co explained.
To recall, when the PNP moved to arrest Sen. Jinggoy Estrada last June also for plunder, tensions flared in the Senate when then-Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano insisted that Estrada be arrested outside the chamber. /das
