
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Several areas in Calapan City will experience a two-hour emergency power interruption early Saturday, July 4, as the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative Inc. (Ormeco) carries out corrective works on two distribution feeders.
In an advisory, Ormeco said the power outage is scheduled from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. and will affect consumers connected to Feeders CA200 and CA201.

The cooperative said the maintenance activities include the replacement of the CA201 recloser at Unitop; conversion of Assembly C1 to C8; and the installation of a load-break switch at the Neo Calapan Subdivision.

Other aligned works include the insertion of a utility pole and single-phase line extension, conversion of a single-phase line to a three-phase line, and correction of power lines near the Flying V gas station and the Social Security System (SSS) office.
Areas expected to be affected are Sta. Isabel, C5 Road, portions of Sapul, Guinobatan, Lumangbayan, Ilaya, Bulusan, Sto. Niño, Bondoc, Calero, Salong, Libis, San Antonio, Lazareto, Suqui, and portions of Parang.
Ormeco said electricity may be restored earlier than the scheduled time if the maintenance activities are completed ahead of schedule.
The electric cooperative advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to take the necessary precautions and prepare for the temporary interruption./coa
