CEBU CITY, Philippines— Girl power.
This is how many can describe a photo of two ladies who dominate the sport of running here in the Philippines.
Fitness influencer, content creator, and triathlete Aira Lopez made a quick trip to Cebu and shared that before leaving, she had to meet up and run with our very own Cebu-based marathoner, Artjoy Torregosa.

Torregosa is the Women’s National Marathon record holder with a time of 2:33:54.
In a Facebook post, Lopez lauded Torregosa by saying that athletes like her deserve the help and support of everyone.
She even went on to mention that, given the pride Torregosa gave the Philippines, up to now she still has no major sponsors backing her running journey.
“Ito ang mga atletang dapat tulungan at suportahan. Totoong Philippine Pride! Despite holding the national record, wala pa rin siyang major sponsors,” reads her post.

Before meeting with Artjoy Torregosa, Aira Lopez, along with some Cebuano runners, ran on the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway on Wednesday, July 1.
This was not her first time running on the iconic bridge, for she ran this route last September.
