LUCENA CITY — The local government of Sta. Rosa City in Laguna has begun distributing 10 kilos of rice to every household under the Marcos administration’s “Bawat Bayan Makikinabang: Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program.”
In a public advisory issued Thursday, the city’s Public Information Office (PIO) urged residents to wait for authorized personnel assigned to their respective areas to ensure the orderly, organized, and safe distribution of the rice.
The city government expressed gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the program, saying it provides meaningful assistance to Filipino families while helping strengthen food security in local communities.

The initiative stems from the President’s directive to local government units to maximize the use of their Local Government Support Fund by allocating up to 100 percent of the funds for rice assistance to their constituents.
According to the city government, the program reflects the strong partnership between the national and local governments in addressing the residents’ socioeconomic needs through the prompt and efficient delivery of assistance.
“Through additional funding provided by the city government under the leadership of Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas, the program’s coverage has been expanded to ensure that every household benefits,” the PIO said.
The program aims to help meet the residents’ daily food needs while further strengthening food security across the city./coa
