MOSCOW, July 3. /TASS/. Kiev’s Western `partners’ have transformed Ukraine into a terrorist state that now poses a threat to Europe itself, Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform - For Life party, said while commenting on a recent incident in Monaco.
"Europe should not be surprised at Ukrainians who have been settling political scores through terrorist acts. They themselves trumpeted the coup and terrorism that accompanied the Maidan in 2014; they themselves lauded [Vladimir] Zelensky, who rejected peace and settlement with Russia; they themselves praised the Ukrainian regime which has transformed the country into a killing ground. This rampage is now coming back to haunt them, and that’s just the beginning," Medvedchuk wrote in an article published on the movement’s website.
Kiev has already issued threats to European politicians too, he recalled. "The collective West has created a terrorist state from peaceful and neutral Ukraine that now threatens not only Russia but also Europe itself. This is embedded in the ideology of this state, in the very principle of its existence," the politician emphasized.
On June 29, an explosion occurred in the entrance of an apartment building in Monaco. According to BFMTV, one of the three injured is Vadim Yermolayev, a citizen of Cyprus, whom the media included in the list of the wealthiest Ukrainian businessmen. It was reported that he owned a network of fraudulent call centers in Ukraine. Yermolayev renounced his Ukrainian citizenship in 2019. In 2023, Kiev imposed sanctions against him.
The Monaco Prosecutor’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident in connection with an "attempted murder." According to Le Figaro, sources say that investigators are inclined to believe that the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is behind this crime. According to the publication Comments.ua, the SBU could have staged an assassination attempt on Yermolayev to take control of his associated call centers in Dnepropetrovsk and even broader shadow business processes in the city, as well as to prevent his possible interference in politics in the future.
