Rebate Well Spent With Malta As Star Of Enola Holmes 3

If there’s one thing viewers won’t miss while watching Enola Holmes 3, it’s Malta.

The island isn’t just where the latest Netflix mystery was filmed, it’s woven into the story itself.

Malta is mentioned throughout the film several times, several recognisable locations feature prominently, and viewers can even hear Maltese being spoken in the background during key scenes.

One of the film’s sequences takes place during a lively Maltese carnival, with Enola weaving through the celebrations as she follows the character played by Maltese actress Michela Farrugia. Farrugia is best known for starring as Mar in Alex Camilleri’s critically acclaimed Żejtune, following her breakout role in Luzzu.

Amid the festivities, the sounds of revellers speaking Maltese can be heard, adding an authentic local touch to the scene.

The film also shines a spotlight on Maltese actor Joe Azzopardi, who plays Mikiel Mizzi, a member of the Partito Anti-Riformistas fighting to free Malta from British rule.

As his efforts to challenge the British Crown unfold, Mizzi becomes an important ally in Enola’s investigation, giving one of Malta’s best-known actors a significant role in the story.

Between its locations, language and local talent, Enola Holmes 3 makes sure Malta isn’t just the setting, it’s one of the film’s biggest stars.
