Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ministry of Tourism has promoted Indonesia's tourism attractions to Malaysian travelers through the Wonderful Indonesia Sales Mission 2026.
"Through the event, the Ministry is not only targeting an increase in tourist arrivals from Malaysia, but also encouraging a wider distribution of visits to various destinations in Indonesia, extending length of stay, and increasing tourist spending during their trips in Indonesia," Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism Ni Made Ayu Marthini said in a press statement in Jakarta on Friday.
Ni Made said the event was held with the full support of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and took place in two strategic cities, namely Seremban of Negeri Sembilan on June 18 and Kuala Lumpur on June 19.
The tourism promotion in 2026 is focused on introducing 10 Priority Tourism Destinations and Five Regenerative Tourism Destinations which offer quality, sustainable, and environmentally friendly tourism experiences while providing greater benefits to communities in the destinations.
The Wonderful Indonesia Sales Mission 2026, Ni Made says, gained added value through a strategic collaboration with state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero).

During the event, the Ministry brought together 25 Indonesian tourism industry players or sellers, including travel agencies, hotels, destination managers, and related partners.
They were directly connected with around 70 Malaysian tourism industry players from Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Kuala Lumpur.
The Wonderful Indonesia Sales Mission Malaysia 2026 featured a table-top business meeting that brought together the Indonesian and Malaysian tourism industry, railway service, and train-based tour package promotion that aimed at strengthening ties and building long-term bilateral collaboration.
"The involvement of PT KAI is a strategic step to strengthen tourism accessibility while introducing train travel as part of the tourism experience in Indonesia," Ni Made said.

Ni Made hoped that collaboration among the government, state-owned enterprises, and tourism industry players would further strengthen Indonesia-Malaysia cooperation in the tourism sector while generating a positive impact on national economic growth.
Additionally, PT KAI's Director of Business and Business Development Rafli Yandra said the company is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and integrated transportation services, enabling Malaysian tourists to more easily explore leading tourism destinations.
"KAI is ready to become part of the national tourism ecosystem while providing a memorable travel experience for foreign tourists, especially those from Malaysia," Rafli said.
