Nearly two decades after the first film’s release, rockers are heading back to their favorite camp as ‘Camp Rock 3’ is set to premiere on August 13 on Disney+ and Disney Channel.
Released on July 2, the official film teaser shows Jonas Brothers returning to the camp as the famous fictional band, Connect 3. Set before their long-awaited reunion tour, Shane (Joe Jonas), Nate (Nick Jonas), and Jason (Kevin Jonas) Gray came back to where they started to find the next big thing after losing their opening act.
“As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise and friendships are tested—leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances,” the official logline reads.
The teaser also features the new generations of rockers such as Liamani Segura, Hudson Stone, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts, and Ava Jean. Returning cast includes Maria Canals-Barrera as Connie, the mother of Demi Lovato’s character Mitchie Torres.
Segura was introduced as Sage, the bold and determined rocker finding her way in becoming the opening act of Connect 3.
Additionally, the first look of performance of the film’s new single, ‘One Beat Away,’ is shown on the teaser.
Camp Rock 3 is directed and written by Veronica Rodriguez and Eydie Faye, respectively. Aside from returning as a cast in the third installment, Jonas Brothers, alongside original cast Lovato, will act as the film’s executive producers (EP). Other EPs include Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman, and Gary Marsh.
The original movie, premiered in 2008, follows an aspiring teenage singer who lands a spot at a prestigious music summer camp. Together with other young musicians, they navigate the camp while building connections and friendships along the way.
