LUCENA CITY — Two alleged high-value drug suspects were arrested and more than P1.3 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) was seized in a buy-bust operation in Binangonan, Rizal, on Thursday night, July 2.
In a belated report released on Friday, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (RPPO) said anti-drug operatives arrested the suspects, identified only by their aliases “Kakay,” 53, and “Nonoy,” 27, after they allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer.

Based on the Dangerous Drugs Board’s standard valuation of P6,800 per gram, the confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of P1,375,436.
Police also recovered a motorcycle believed to have been used in the suspects’ alleged drug activities and two mobile phones, which investigators will examine for possible evidence of illegal drug transactions.
The RPPO classified the suspects as high-value individuals (HVIs), a category that includes alleged drug financiers, traffickers, manufacturers, importers, and members of drug syndicates.
Col. Eleazar Barber Jr., RPPO director, said the operation underscores the police’s intensified campaign against major players in the illegal drug trade.

He described the arrest of the two alleged HVIs and the seizure of more than 200 grams of suspected shabu as among the provincial police’s most significant anti-drug accomplishments this year.
“Our message is clear—there is no place in Rizal for syndicates and individuals engaged in the distribution of illegal drugs. We will not stop conducting intensified intelligence-driven law enforcement operations until these groups that threaten the future of our people are completely dismantled,” Barber said.
