
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Cebuano standouts Kenny Roger Rocacurva and Nic Cabanero delivered solid performances as the Biñan Tatak Gel Masters cruised to a lopsided 95-75 victory over the Bulacan Kuyas in the ongoing Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) on Thursday, July 2, at the Batangas City Coliseum.
The victory extended Biñan’s winning streak to five games and improved its record to 13-3, good for seventh place in the standings. The Tatak Gel Masters sit just behind the Quezon Huskers (10-2) and ahead of the Cebu Greats (12-3).

Rocacurva and Cabanero scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, to help Biñan secure the convincing road win. Rocacurva also grabbed four rebounds and recorded two blocks in 21 minutes, shooting an efficient 5-of-9 from the field.
Meanwhile, Cabanero overcame an off shooting night, making just 3 of his 13 field-goal attempts, but still finished in double figures. He also contributed four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Carlo Lastimosa led Biñan with 18 points, four rebounds, and two steals, while Jaymar Gimpayan and Michael Mabulac posted double-doubles. Gimpayan tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds with two assists, while Mabulac added 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists. Kristan Hernandez chipped in 11 points as Biñan showcased balanced scoring.

For Bulacan, Jeremy Cruz and Jonathan Medina scored 13 points apiece, while Kenneth Castillo added 12. The Kuyas dropped to 4-11 and remained 21st in the team standings.
Biñan controlled the game from the outset, racing to a 14-2 lead and building a 45-26 advantage in the first half. Bulacan showed signs of life early in the third quarter, trimming the deficit to 53-42, but Biñan quickly regained control and leaned on its dominance in the paint. The Tatak Gel Masters outrebounded the Kuyas, 35-15, to seal the emphatic victory.
