
A Nigerian doctoral student at the University of Rochester, New York, United States, Abel Owolabi, has been invited to present a lecture at the Applied Superconductivity Conference in September 2026.
The conference will be held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Centre in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US.
In an invitation letter signed by the 2026 conference chair, Judy Wu, and seen by Diaspora Tales on Friday, Owolabi will speak on Dynamic Single Flux Quantum Half Adder.

Owolabi received a fully funded PhD scholarship in Electrical Engineering at the University of Rochester in August 2024 after earning a distinction in his master’s programme in the same field.
He graduated with First-Class honours in Computer Engineering from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, in 2022.
