8 titles up for grabs at Mr. World Philippines 2026 competition

The likelihood of getting a title has gotten higher for Mr. World Philippines 2026 contestants now that multiple other prizes have been added to the main plum.

At the presentation of the candidates held in Pasay City on July 1, the contest’s national director, Arnold Vegafria, revealed that seven more national titles will be awarded at the contest.

When the male compatition made a call for applicants last year, it did not mention any additional prizes aside from the main title Mr. World Philippines.

Vegafria, however, did not identify what other national titles will be at stake in the competition. The president of ALV Pageant Circle has a recorded knack for collecting international pageant franchises from lesser known competitions.

Even in his national pageants for women, Vegafria has crowned multiple queens at a single ceremony. At the most recent Miss World Philippines pageant, he proclaimed a total of six queens, and even the runners-up belatedly received their own national titles.

Just last month, ALV Pageant Circle held a Coronation Gala where Vegafria crowned seven queens. Some of the ladies had previously received different titles and were given new crowns.

The 2026 Mr. World Philippines contest will only be ALV Pageant Circle’s second time holding an actual competition since holding the franchise; the first edition was conducted in 2018.

No other competition was held until now, and the previous titleholders after 2018 were only appointed, including Kirk Bondad who received his title in 2022. He waited two years before his Mister World contest pushed through in Vietnam in 2024.

Mister World is the official counterpart of the Miss World pageant under the London-based Miss World Organization. The international male title was originally held every two years, but the recent stagings had an irregular calendar.

There is still no word when or where the 2026 Mister World contest will be held, but Vegafria said details of the international competition will be released soon.

Twenty aspirants, including national and international pageant veterans, are competing in this year’s national contest. The 2026 Mr. World Philippines final competition will be held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City on July 25. /ra
