Cody Walker facing ban for brain snap
By Jon Healy
Souths half Cody Walker is facing a one-game suspension for contrary conduct after kicking Jack Cogger in South Sydney's loss to Penrith last night.
Walker took exception to the way Cogger lay on him in a tackle and kicked him in the shin after the fact, ultimately costing his team the try they scored as the play carried on out to the right wing.
Walker could be banned for two games if he fights the charge and loses, but based on his comments last night, I don't see that happening.
"It wasn't good enough as a senior player and I've got to be better in those moments not let my aggression get the better of me," said Walker, who has a history of on-field aggression.
"I let my teammates down, and I'm really sorry about that."
Coincidentally, Cogger is also facing a ban of two or three weeks for his high shot on Walker's halves partner, Ashton Ward.

HALF-TIME: Raiders roar back to lead Dragons
By Jon Healy
The Raiders have scored two tries late in the first half to lead the Dragons 10-4 at the break in Kogarah.
Teagan Berry did it all herself to open the scoring just 86 seconds into the Dragons' season, before the visitors hit back.
Off-season recruit Sheridan Gallagher linked with former Dragon Bobbi Law to cross with seven minutes left, before Chanté Temara found a rampaging Grace Kemp with some slick dummy-half deception to sent the NSW Origin player crashing through the middle.

Roosters get straight back to winning in 2026
By Jon Healy
After winning 18 straight games only to lose to the Broncos in last year's NRLW grand final, the Roosters have wasted no time getting back to their winning ways to start 2026.
The Gold Coast Titans are one of the bolstered teams expected (read: hoped) to challenge the dominance of Sydney and Brisbane this year, but were utterly outmatched in a 34-10 loss to the Roosters, who welcomed back superstar half Tarryn Aiken from injury.
Aiken tore her ACL in the last regular season game of 2025 and missed the finals and this year's State of Origin series, but slotted back into the Roosters' line-up and nabbed herself a try and an assist in her return.
Also influential was gun forward Olivia Kernick, who ran for 185 metres, 85 coming after contact, and fullback Corban Baxter, who missed most of last season but is back in full swing with three try assists in the number one.
There was a moment of joy for the Titans, as major off-season signing and former rugby sevens star Teagan Levi wasted no time showing what she could do.
