Ivan Falzon has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Party, taking over the role from Leonid McKay.
Following the announcement, Prime Minister Robert Abela welcomed Falzon in a social media post, expressing confidence in his appointment.
“I welcome Ivan Falzon as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Party,” Abela wrote.
Abela said Falzon possesses the managerial experience and professionalism needed to help the Labour Party continue strengthening and working in the interests of the Maltese and Gozitan people.
Abela also paid tribute to outgoing CEO Leonid McKay, thanking him for what he described as his “excellent work” over the past two years.
He said McKay’s dedication had been crucial in strengthening the party’s unity and contributing to what he called the Labour Party’s fourth consecutive electoral victory.
Falzon now assumes the party’s top executive role as the Labour Party prepares for its next phase under a new CEO.
