
MANILA, Philippines — Palace Press Officer Claire Castro on Friday (Saturday in the Philippines) responded to an incident that occurred during a visit in Vancouver, Canada, where a group of Filipinos confronted her and members of her team.
Videos circulating online showed several individuals surrounding Castro and Palace personnel while protesting against the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Castro said the protesters were asking her to tell Marcos to resign.

“He asked me who Claire was, and I said, ‘Yes,’ and that was when he shouted, ‘You ask your President to resign,” Castro said in Filipino.
Castro explained that their team was planning to shoot a video reel when the group approached and allegedly harassed them.
“Whoever they idolize seems accustomed to violence,” Castro added.
Following the commotion, Castro sought assistance to nearby police officers in Vancouver.
