
MANILA, Philippines — Palace Press Officer Claire Castro has addressed an incident in Vancouver, Canada, where a group of Filipinos confronted her and her team during President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s official visit on Friday.
Viral videos capture the moment protesters surrounded Castro and other Palace staff to demonstrate against the Marcos administration.

Castro said the protesters were asking her to tell Marcos to resign.
“He asked me who Claire was, and I said, ‘Yes,’ and that was when he shouted, ‘You ask your President to resign,” Castro said in Filipino.
Castro explained that their team was planning to shoot a video reel when the group approached and allegedly harassed them.

“Whoever they idolize seems accustomed to violence,” Castro added.
Following the commotion, Castro sought assistance to nearby police officers in Vancouver.
