
Jordon Varnado is the Meralco Bolts’ import for the 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup. –MERALCO BOLTS
MANILA, Philippines–Meralco will bring back a familiar face in Jordon Varnado for the upcoming PBA Governors’ Cup.
Varnado is no stranger to the Bolts, having suited up as the team’s import during the Basketball Champions League (BCL) Asia alongside Glynn Watson and John Egbunu.

“He was able to hold his own [in the BCL], he filled up the stat sheet for us and he’s in his prime. He’s not old, he’s at the age where he should be in his prime,” coach Luigi Trillo told the Inquirer.

In three games with the Bolts, Varnado averaged 19.7 points—the ninth highest in the tournament—along with 10.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
Unfortunately, his stint ended when Meralco was eliminated by the XAC Broncos.
Now, though, the Bolts will have another opportunity to build chemistry with Varnado, and Trillo had nothing but praise for the 6-foot-7 swingman.

“He’s quite skilled. He can hit the three, he has a nice midrange pull-up, he’s explosive and can go up and down the court pretty well,” he said.
“He’s played in Europe and Italy, and we’ve seen him up close. Hopefully, we can continue the quality play that we’ve been showing in the past two conferences [with him].”
