
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A 32-year-old man surrendered to the police after allegedly stabbing his 19-year-old brother-in-law following a dispute over an unpaid debt in San Fernando town, Bukidnon on Friday evening.
A police report said the incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. in Sitio Kauswagan, Barangay Little Baguio.

Initial investigations by the San Fernando Municipal Police Station (MPS) revealed that the victim went to the suspect’s residence to confront him about an argument from the previous day regarding a workplace debt.

During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly approached the victim from behind and stabbed him once in the left waist using a jungle knife.
The suspect immediately fled the scene with the weapon. The victim was transported to the Bukidnon Provincial Hospital in San Fernando for medical treatment.
At 11:50 p.m. on the same day, the suspect surrendered to the San Fernando MPS and turned over the jungle knife used in the crime.
He remains in police custody pending the filing of appropriate criminal complaints before the Office of the Prosecutor. /jpv
