Maltese photographer Marika Caruana has once again wowed social media with a spectacular shot, this time capturing a rare moment where the rising moon shared the spotlight with a vibrant fireworks display.
Taken from Attard two days ago, the photograph perfectly frames the glowing moon as fireworks from the Feast of St Andrew in Ħal Luqa burst across the night sky.
Sharing the image online, Caruana described the scene as a breathtaking collision of nature and celebration.
“The sky sure gave us a celestial and pyrotechnic spectacle,” she wrote.
She added that the rising moon and the St Andrew’s feast fireworks seemed to be “vying for attention”, creating a striking contrast that made for an unforgettable photograph.
The image quickly caught the attention of followers, with many praising Caruana’s eye for timing and composition, and celebrating yet another stunning reminder of Malta’s unique skies and vibrant festa traditions.
It’s the kind of shot that only lasts for a fleeting moment, but one that will be remembered for much longer.
