Taylor Swift Explains “Huge” 1,000-Person Guest List for Travis Kelce Wedding
Taylor Swift knows it’s so nice throwin' big parties.
Before the Grammy winner tied the knot with Travis Kelce at their massive wedding—which reportedly boasted a 1,000-person guest list—at Madison Square Garden in New York City July 3, she shared insight into why she was always ready for it when it came to having a “huge” celebration.
“I’m so excited about it. I know it’s going to be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble," Swift said during her appearance on The Graham Norton Show last October. "And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that."
Rather than stressing about who should make the guest list, Swift opted to shake off any awkwardness amongst her peers by inviting “anyone I’ve ever talked to.”
"It’s like, ‘Oh, we had to have hung out eight times.’ It’s like, ‘On the bubble, we’ve hung out five times,’” she continued. “We don’t have to think about it. It’s going to be fun.”
Though Swift’s star-studded wedding was one straight out of her wildest dreams, she admitted regret over sharing too much at the time. As she put it, “I shouldn’t have said any of that.”
The “Opalite” singer and the Kansas City Chiefs star—who started dating in 2023 and announced their engagement in August 2025—confirmed their July 3 nuptials with screens reading "JUST&T Married" outside MSG.

For the event, Hollywood’s biggest stars—including Gigi Hadid, Ed Sheeran, Stevie Nicks and more—made their way out east to celebrate the couple’s married era. And though the wedding was anything but quaint, multiple guests have spoken out about how the pinnacle of the pair’s love story was more intimate than fans might think.
“It did not look like Madison Square Garden,” AMC CEO Adam Aron wrote in a since-deleted X post of his experience at the wedding. “Immediately upon entry, everything... floors, walls, ceilings... was draped in peach and white. Large blown up pictures of Taylor and Travis at each age, year by year from one year-old to late teenager-hood, were on display.”

As for how the couple transformed the arena?
“A small portion of MSG was cordoned off, devoid of any notion that that a basketball or hockey game ever shared that space,” he continued. “Somehow magically, someone created an outdoor garden at a lush countryside retreat. Everything draped off this time in green and white. Real flowers and I think artificial trees welcomed fifteen rows of maybe 75 or so chairs.”
“They say there were around one thousand attendees, but surprisingly, it all felt intimate and small,” he added. “Everything was close.”
