Les Bleus in a league of their own
By Amanda Shalala
I was lucky enough to be at both of these teams' round of 32 matches, where Paraguay stunned Germany, and France breezed past Sweden.
On current form it really is difficult to see any team stopping Les Bleus. They have so many dangerous attacking threats, are technically and tactically brilliant, and are playing so cohesively as a team.
While other favourites like Argentina, Spain, and England have had close shaves throughout this tournament, the French have been close to flawless.
Paraguay executed a perfect game plan against Germany, with patience and resolute defence to take it to penalties and then get the win.
No doubt they'll employ similar tactics, but you'd think the quality of France's attack will be too strong for Paraguay's brick wall.
These conditions will be tough for both sides too, this is an outdoor stadium, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL, and the heat is incredibly energy sapping.

Independence Day in Philly
By Amanda Shalala
Hi football fans, I'm in Philadelphia today, aka the Birthplace of America, on the Fourth of July.
It's around 37 degrees here as the extreme heat in this corner of the country continues.
There was supposed to be a massive parade here yesterday to celebrate the holiday but it was cancelled due to the weather, but there is a huge fireworks spectacular and concert planned for tonight.
I visited the Independence National Historical Park earlier to get a vibe check from locals on what the Fourth of July means to them.
I spoke to people who've travelled from across the country, who wanted to be here to mark the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in the place where it happened.
There were plenty of football fans around too, many of them excited to have the World Cup here and to showcase the best of the US to visitors and those watching at home.

Morocco strong in second half
By David Hirst
Heartbreak for Canada, but that was an outstanding second half from Morocco.
They soaked up a lot of pressure and caught Canada with some quick counter attacks.
Canada just lacking for little bit of quality to find a goal.
Still, the co-hosts have had a decent World Cup.

FT: Dominant Morocco beats co-hosts Canada 3-0
By David Hirst
Morocco booked its place in the World Cup quarterfinals by beating co-hosts Canada 3-0 in Houston.
Canada dominated the first half, playing with intensity and energy, but struggled to create decent chances.
Morocco came out stronger after the break, taking the lead on 50 minutes with only their second shot of the game.
Achraf Hakimi cut back a free-kick to the edge of the box and Azzedine Ounahi fired low into the bottom corner.
Morocco extended its lead on 80 minutes with a swift counter attack.
Ounahi blasting into the top corner after a pass from Brahim Diaz for his second goal of the game.
Morocco got a third in the last seconds of stoppage time, Soufiane Rahimi coolly finishing past the Canada keeper.
Morocco will face either France or Paraguay in the quarterfinals, as Canada becomes the first co-host to be eliminated.

90+8' Morocco makes it 3-0!
By David Hirst
The icing on the cake for Morocco.
Sub Soufiane Rahimi is free in the box and he coolly slots into the bottom corner.
Morocco has been fantastic in the second half.
They are going to the quarterfinals.

85' Morocco hits the bar!

Almost 3-0.
Soufiane Rahimi almost adds a third for Morocco, but his header crashes off the crossbar.

82' Morocco makes it 2-0! Canada are heading out
By David Hirst
That could be game, set and match for co-hosts Canada.
Canada are on the attack, but the move breaks down and Morocco counter attacks.
Brahim Diaz does well to get into the box, he lays it off to Azzedine Ounahi, who blasts in his second goal of the game.
A real sucker-punch for Canada.

Tajon Buchanan hits a dipping and swerving shot which Bono does well to keep out.

77' Canada awarded free-kick
By David Hirst
But here's a chance.
A free-kick right on the edge of the area.
Jonathan David clips it over the wall, but it goes over the bar.
Not a great effort from the Canadian striker.
Canada brings on another striker - Promise David.
Jacob Shaffelburg also on for Canada.
Laryea and Ahmed are off.

76' Canada unable to create anything
By David Hirst
Canada seems to have run out of steam.
They've barely been in the Moroccan penalty area this half.
The co-hosts are heading out unless they can find a goal

Canada coach looks deflated
By David Hirst
I don't think Jesse Marsch can believe his team is behind.
He makes a change, bringing on Cyle Larin for Tani Oluwaseyi.
Morocco also goes to the bench.
Sofyan Amrabat and Chemsdine Talbi are on for Ayyoub Bouaddi and Bilal El Khannouss.

Canada made to pay
By David Hirst
Canada had been dominating but you have to create chances when you're on top.
Canada hasn't really done that and they've been made to pay.
It was only Morocco's second shot on goal in the game.

50' Morocco takes the lead!!
By David Hirst
Totally against the run of play.
They've barely been in this game but Morocco is in front.
It's a decent goal as well.
Hakimi cuts a free-kick to the edge of the box and Azzedine Ounahi fires low into the bottom corner.
Harsh on Canada but it was a fantastic free-kick routine.

48' Panic in Morocco penalty area
By David Hirst
Morocco gives the ball away and it pings around the area.
It doesn't quite drop for a Canadian player and it's cleared for a corner.

Six bookings as tensions boil over
By David Hirst
There were six yellow cards in that half - four for Morocco and two for Canada.
Achraf Hakimi needlessly pushed Canada defender Richie Laryea, which ended in a confrontation between the pair.
Both players were shown a yellow card.

HT: Canada on top but level with Morocco at break
By David Hirst
It's been a fantastic performance by Canada.
Full of energy and intensity.
The only downside is that they haven't created many decent changes.
Morocco were totally out of sorts in that first half.
