Part of Hamilton highway closed after car hit pedestrian

Part of Hamilton's State Highway 1C has closed after a car hit a pedestrian in the suburb of Frankton.

The crash on Lincoln Street was reported about 9.50am on Sunday.

The pedestrian involved was in a critical condition.

Lincoln Street was shut between the Rifle Range Road/Norton Road roundabout and Edgar Street, while access to the refuse centre was still open.

It's expected to remain closed for several hours as the Serious Crash Unit carries out a scene examination.

Motorists were advised to expect delays as emergency services work at the scene.
