Body recovered from water near Te Papa

Wellington police have recovered the body of a man seen entering the water near Te Papa.

Police were called to the Wellington waterfront about 2.30pm, after the man was seen entering the water, but did not resurface.

The Police Dive Squad was called in and the man's body was found at 5.10pm.

His death has been referred to the coroner.
