CEBU CITY, Philippines — Carlo “Brown Sugar” Bacaro hopes to get back on the winning track as he headlines a co-promoted boxing card by Chao Sy International Promotions and Verano Promotions on July 26 at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Bacaro, a former Omega Boxing Gym standout, will take on Thailand’s Channarong Injampa for the vacant World Boxing Foundation (WBF) Silver welterweight title.
The event was officially announced by Cebuano boxing patron Lorenzo “Chao” Sy, who is staging his second promotion of the year in Cebu. Sy previously promoted the International Boxing Federation world minimumweight title eliminator on May 9 at the Cebu Coliseum, where Ian Abne faced China’s DianXing Zhu.
For the upcoming card, Sy has teamed up with Verano Promotions to bring another international boxing event to Cebu.

The title bout presents Bacaro with a chance to redeem himself after suffering a technical knockout loss to Japan’s Ryota Toyoshima in their fight for the World Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific super welterweight title in Tokyo last April.
The defeat dropped Bacaro’s record to 14-2 with eight knockouts.
Injampa also seeking rebound
Injampa is also looking to rebound after losing to Japan’s Yukiya Ochiai in Saitama last April. The former Thai super middleweight champion enters the bout with a 21-25 record, including 15 knockouts.
Also featured in the co-main event is unbeaten Hong Kong prospect Saagar Pradhan, who will face Thailand’s Chan Sala in a non-title clash.

Pradhan carries a perfect 8-0 record with three knockouts. He is coming off a third-round knockout victory over Nelson Tinampay in Bukidnon last April. Sala, meanwhile, owns a 13-12 record with eight knockouts and is seeking to bounce back after a loss to Australia’s Jacob Clenshaw in New South Wales.
The complete fight card will be unveiled during a press conference on Monday, July 6, to be led by Sy.
