Householders with solar rooftops can now apply to sell their excess power to electricity authorities.
Government spokeswoman Rachada Dhnadirek said on Sunday that people in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan can file application to the Metropolitan Electricity Authority via the website address <https://myenergy.mea.or.th>.
Those who live in other provinces can do so through the Provincial Electricity Authority website at <https://ppim.pea.co.th/app/v1/project/solar/detail/6a3df059ee9f0e286c0a1766>.
Both state-run power enterprises will buy power at 2.20 baht per unit for 10 years and each approved householder can sell up to five kilowatts per meter.
After online application, the state enterprises will check applicants’ qualifications, announce qualified applicants, sign power purchase contracts and check relevant systems before making a power purchase connection, Ms Rachada said.
“This project not only helps cut people's power bills but also lets householders take part in generating clean energy,” the government spokeswoman said.
