
CEBU CITY, Philippines — A 33-year-old woman died after her live-in partner stabbed her several times out of jealousy in Sitio Dap-Dap, Barangay Dumlog, Toledo City, on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
The victim was identified as alias An-an, 33, a resident of the said place, while the suspect was her own live-in partner, alias Cyril, 40.
The victim’s stepfather, alias Pedro, 63, was also injured when he was mauled by the suspect for trying to break up the commotion.

Based on the investigation of the Toledo City Police Station, aside from being drunk, the suspect also got jealous, which prompted him to commit the crime.
The victim and suspect allegedly had an on-and-off relationship.
Argument turned violent
Before the incident, alias An-an returned to her stepfather’s house after she had an argument with the suspect.
The suspect allegedly broke into the home of the victims by destroying the kitchen’s steel grating.
The victim was preparing dinner when the suspect stabbed her, using a scissor on her forehead, face, and neck.

The stepfather defended the victim by striking the suspect with a steel bar.
But the suspect was able to block the stepfather, and the steel bar got thrown away. The suspect then mauled the stepfather.
Dead on arrival
The victims were brought to Toledo City Hospital; however, alias An-an was declared dead upon arrival by the attending physician.
The police immediately conducted a hot-pursuit operation, and on Sunday morning, July 5, 2026, authorities were able to apprehend the suspect in Barangay Cambang-ug, Toledo City.
The suspect will face charges of murder and physical injury.
