
Around 8 people, including 4 children, were shot in Brooklyn’s Coney Island during the Fourth of July festivities late Saturday night, according to media reports.
PIX11, a Nexstar affiliate, reported that the New York Police Department (NYPD) responded to the shooting on 2929 West 31st Street at around 10:37 p.m. EDT, citing a statement from the department.
The Hill has reached out to the NYPD for more information.
“All victims were transported by EMS to local area hospitals where seven people were listed in stable condition,” the NYPD stated, according to ABC News. “The 21-year-old woman is listed in critical condition.”
Police also said that a 37-year-old man, a 33-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman, a 14-year-old boy, a 12-year-old boy, a 7-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy were injured.
No arrests have been made, though police told ABC News that a firearm was recovered.
