
CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO, Philippines — A former teacher, now working as a private tutor, was stabbed by her nephew-in-law inside her residence in Barangay Odiong, Roxas town, on July 3, police said in a report on Sunday, July 5.
The victim sustained stab wounds and was rushed to a medical facility for treatment, while responding officers from the Roxas Municipal Police Station immediately arrested the suspect at the scene without resistance.
Police said their initial investigation showed that the attack stemmed from a personal grudge or revenge and was not connected to the victim’s former profession as a teacher or her current work as a private tutor.

Investigators said the stabbing occurred inside the victim’s private residence and that evidence and witness accounts pointed to a personal dispute between the parties involved.
The suspect remains under police custody pending the filing of appropriate criminal charges.

In a statement, the Roxas Municipal Police Station clarified that the incident was an isolated case arising from a personal conflict and should not be linked to recent attacks involving educators reported elsewhere in the country.

Police emphasized that the stabbing was not related to any school, educational institution, or teaching activity, and urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary alarm.
