
LEGAZPI CITY, ALBAY, Philippines — Classes at all levels in Camarines Norte were suspended on Monday following reports of security threats targeting schools in the province.
In an advisory on Sunday night, Gov. Ricarte Padilla said the order was to ensure the safety and well-being of students, school personnel, and the general public while authorities were assessing the situation.
The Camarines Norte National High School announced that it would implement an alternative delivery mode to ensure the continuity of classes despite the suspension of in-person learning.

Earlier, the Camarines Norte Police said it was verifying and investigating messages circulating on social media that allegedly contained threats involving several schools in the province.

Police said the messages were still undergoing thorough verification and investigation to determine their source and assess whether there was an actual threat to public safety.
They were also closely coordinating with other law enforcement agencies and concerned government offices to identify those responsible and undertake appropriate actions.
The Daet Municipal Information Office urged the public to remain calm and avoid spreading of unverified information that could cause fear and confusion to the public. /cb
