A suspect has been charged over the death of a 66-year-old man after an alleged assault at a Brisbane park on the weekend.
Police will allege a fight broke out between two men at the West End park, on the corner of Thomas and Vulture Streets, shortly after midnight on Sunday.
The 27-year-old from Yeronga allegedly struck the older man, causing him to fall and injure his head. The 66-year-old was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries.
The pair did not know each other, police said.
The 27-year-old was arrested at Fortitude Valley on Sunday night.
He has been charged with unlawful striking causing death and possessing dangerous drugs, and is due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.
