People have been evacuated from a building in central Auckland after a car caused extensive damage.
Fire and Emergency said crews were called to the corner of New North Road and Mount Eden Road in Eden Terrace just after midday on Monday.
A FENZ spokesperson said two cars collided, and one went on to hit a nearby building.
He said the damage was extensive, and people had been evacuated while staff assessed the building's stability.
Police said at this stage one person is reported to have received minor injuries.
Fire and Emergency called for Auckland Council to send an engineer to assess the damage.
Police said the intersection was partially blocked.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area until the scene has been cleared or expect delays," a spokesperson said.
"Inquiries remain ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident."
