WATCH: SP Gatchalian describes impeachment trial as 'historic'

Manila, Philippines – Senate President Sherwin Gatchalian on Monday described the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte as a “historic” moment for the institution, urging Senate employees to trust his leadership as the chamber formally convened as an impeachment court.

Addressing Senate personnel at the flag raising ceremony, Gatchalian assured them that every decision made throughout the proceedings would be guided by the Constitution and the institution’s integrity.
