
DAVAO CITY — Two women fruit vendors were shot by a lone gunman on Sunday night while attending to their business along Orchids Street beside Ubalde Elementary School in Barangay Ubalde, Agdao District here.
According to the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the two were immediately brought to Southern Philippine Medical Center (SPMC) by members of the Barangay Disaster Quick Reaction Team of Barangay Ubalde.
Police duty investigators in their initial report revealed both women, aged 48 and 36, were busy displaying their fruits when a lone gunman on board an NMAX motorcycle suddenly stopped in front of them and shot them multiple times.

Police said the gunman was later identified by one of the victims’ sons as their stepfather.
The attending physician at SPMC told the police the victims who sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies are undergoing medical treatment and are currently under monitoring.
Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation to arrest the suspect. /coa
