Three people and a dog were safely rescued this afternoon after becoming stranded off Munxar, Marsaskala, when rough sea conditions left them unable to paddle their kayak back to shore.
Civil Protection Department rescuers from Fire Station 5 were dispatched to the scene after reports that two adults, one youth and a dog had become stuck at sea.
CPD rescue swimmers reached the group before safely bringing all three individuals and their four-legged companion aboard the CPD RHIB Delta 2 rescue vessel.
The group was then transported safely back to shore, where they were assessed by responders.
Thankfully, none of the three required any medical treatment following the rescue.
The incident serves as another reminder for anyone heading out to sea to check weather and sea conditions before setting off, particularly when using kayaks or other small watercraft.
